Door een connaisseur feilloos op smaak samengesteld, met uitzonderlijke zorgvuldigheid bereden en derhalve voorzien van een volledige onderhoudshistorie. Zelden zijn 993’s zó goed geconditioneerd als dit vroege exemplaar uit ’94 [dus: geen vario-ram], waarbij tal van finesses als achterwielaandrijving, de handgeschakelde 6-bak en een sperdifferentieel hem aantrekkelijk maken als investeringsobject en bovenal rijders-auto. Moderne gemakken als een elektrische kap, stuurbekrachtiging, ABS en Climate Control met airconditioning maken dat een roadtrip of tourrit in deze Porsche een stuk aangenamer voelt. Ondanks een vertrouwd silhouet was de 993-generatie nog geavanceerder, aero-dynamischer, veiliger én krachtiger dan het voorgaande 964-model.

Met de ronde, liggende koplampen, iconische fly-line en het karakteristieke motorgeluid van de luchtgekoelde boxer nadert dit model de absolute perfectie. De carrosserie is zó mooi in balans, dat we de vierde evolutie van Porsche’s legende louter kunnen waarderen. Het Polar Silver metallic lakwerk met blauwe gloed accentueert de Metropol blauwe cabriokap en originele 17" Cup 2-velgen optimaal. Het Midnight blauwe interieur verkeert eveneens in zeer nette, originele conditie, zakelijk afgewerkt met matzwarte dashboard-inleg. De comfortabele stoelen houden bestuurder en passagier perfect in hun greep, al geniet de bestuurderszijde duidelijk de voorkeur; alleen al vanwege het zicht op het fraaie instrumentarium met analoge klokken en de optionele boordcomputer.

In de smalle tunnelconsole priemt de pook van de handmatige transmissie, met daarboven een de schakelaar voor de achterspoiler, centrale vergrendeling, het af-fabriek diefstal-alarm [klasse 3] en de elektrische cabriokap. Dankzij het geüpgrade audio-systeem en aanvullende tweakers en -versterker is het, los van het motorgeluid, auditief volop genieten geblazen. Qua infotainment is hier gekozen voor een eigentijdse Pioneer-radio met USB-aansluiting, geheel in lijn met de overige zwarte schakelaars. De ramen, stoelen en buitenspiegels zijn elektrisch te verstellen. De stoelverwarming en het windscherm achter de voorstoelen dragen zorg voor een fijne open lucht-ervaring. Bij warm weer functioneert de airconditioning goed.

Nadat dit exemplaar eind februari 1994 werd gebouwd in het Duitse Stuttgart werd hij op 8 maart 1994 al uitgeleverd aan de burgemeester van Hamburg. De auto verbleef daar tot augustus 1999 met jaarlijks onderhoud bij de plaatselijke dealer en werd toen geïmporteerd door Porsche Centrum Amsterdam. De daaropvolgende vier eigenaren wisselden op 25-2-2002, 19-4-2007, 31-8-2010 en 19-7-2013. Alle NAW-gegevens zijn bekend. Bij 61.209km [21-4-1997] ging de tellerklok kapot, waardoor er door Porsche Hamburg aantoonbaar een nieuwe in is gezet. De huidige eigenaar betreft een verzamelaar en liet jaarlijks onderhoud uitvoeren bij Porsche-specialist V.D. Gugten; alle facturen daarvan zijn inzichtelijk. Het originele onderhoudsboekje is aanwezig en volledig afgestempeld: tot 2003 [126dkm] bij de Porsche-dealer, daarna bij V.D. Gugten.

Het verleden bleef al die tijd ongevalsvrij en het chassis, de motor en versnellingsbak hebben ‘matching numbers’. Veel panelen zijn om cosmetische redenen al wel eens opnieuw gespoten; gelukkig is dat professioneel en zorgvuldig gedaan. Bij de aankoop werd de cabriokap vernieuwd, evenals het windscherm. Het laatste onderhoud is uitgevoerd in juni 2022, de Michelin-zomerbanden met N3-codering dateren uit augustus 2015 en hebben rondom minimaal 60% profiel. Alles functioneert naar behoren en de auto rijdt, stuurt en start zonder enig probleem. De auto is de afgelopen 10 jaar in ieder geval altijd binnen gestald, uitsluitend handmatig gewassen, getankt met E98 en rustig warm gereden. Beide sleutels met startonderbreker en de tonneau zijn aanwezig. Wees welkom om het eens te komen ervaren! Een aankoopkeuring is altijd mogelijk.

Flawlessly composed to taste by a connoisseur, ridden with exceptional care and therefore provided with a full maintenance history. Rarely are 993’s as well-conditioned as this early example from 1994 [so: no vario-ram], with numerous finesses such as rear-wheel drive, the manual 6-speed gearbox and a limited-slip differential making it attractive as an investment object and above all a driver’s car. Modern conveniences such as an electric hood, power steering, ABS and Climate Control with air conditioning make a road trip or tour ride in this Porsche feel a lot more pleasant. Despite a familiar silhouette, the 993 generation was even more advanced, more aerodynamic, safer and more powerful than the previous 964 model.

With the round reclining headlights, iconic fly-line and the characteristic engine sound of the air-cooled boxer, this model approaches absolute perfection. The body is so beautifully balanced that we can only appreciate the fourth evolution of Porsche’s legend. The Polar Silver metallic paintwork with a blue glow optimally accentuates the Metropol blue convertible top and original 17" Cup 2 rims. The Midnight blue interior is also in very neat, original condition, businesslike finished with matte black dashboard inlays. The comfortable seats keep the driver and passenger perfectly in their grip, although the driver’s side is clearly preferred, if only because of the view of the beautiful instruments with analogue clocks and the optional on-board computer.

The manual transmission lever protrudes into the narrow tunnel console, with above it a switch for the rear spoiler, central locking, the factory theft alarm and the electric convertible top. Thanks to the upgraded audio system and additional tweakers and amplifier, apart from the engine sound, it is audible enjoyment. In terms of infotainment, a contemporary Pioneer radio with USB connection has been chosen here, completely in line with the other black switches. The windows, seats and exterior mirrors are electrically adjustable. The seat heating and the windshield behind the front seats ensure a pleasant open-air experience. In hot weather, the air conditioning works well.

After this car was built in Stuttgart, Germany, at the end of February 1994, it was already delivered to an entrepreneur from Hamburg on March 8, 1994. The car stayed there until August 1999 when it was imported by Porsche Centrum Amsterdam. The subsequent four owners changed on 2/25/2002, 4/19/2007, 8/31/2010 and 7/19/2013. At approx. 60,000 km, the counter clock broke, so that Porsche put a new one in it. The current owner is a collector and had annual maintenance carried out by Porsche specialist V.D. Gugten; all invoices thereof are available. In any case, the car has always been stored indoors for the past 10 years, only washed by hand, refueled with E98 and warmed up quietly.

The past has remained accident-free all along and the chassis, engine and gearbox have matching numbers. Many panels have already been repainted for cosmetic reasons; luckily that was done professionally and carefully. At the time of purchase, the convertible top was renewed, as well as the windshield. The last maintenance was carried out in June 2022, the Michelin summer tires [N3] date from August 2015 and have at least 60% profile all around. Everything functions properly and the car drives, steers and starts without any problem. Both keys with immobilizer and the tonneau are present. Feel free to come and experience it by yourself! A purchase inspection is always possible.
